So there you have it. Here’s my opinion of postseason 2008. It would be wonderful to see Joe Torre beat the Red Sox (see Keith’s picks) but I highly doubt that will happen. Keith’s picks are really ballsy – but anything can happen. I’m also a Lou Pinella fan, and the Cubs have a decent team, but the whole 100 years thing makes everyone laugh. Time will tell.

Update 1 10/5 8:45AM: Thanks for making me look like an idiot, Lou. I swear I’m not this dumb, I did the whole 2004 bracket correctly (minus the Red Sox – which is kind of the important part.) Way to ruin my whole bracket. Once the entire media jumped on the Cubs bandwagon, I knew I’d be done. I’ll be going for Joe Torre all the way I guess.

I Hate Fox and ESPN Announcers

There is nothing more annoying than trying to watch a baseball game with FOX or ESPN announcers. They are the most biased idiots around, and really get on my nerves. This weekend during the Yankees/ Red Sox games, the two morons on ESPN (Jon Miller and Joe Morgan) would always scream with excitement whenever Boston players hit or scored. However, the times the Yankees did something interesting, they would be nonchalant and just talk as if it were no big deal. “OMG. BASE HIT!! LOOK AT ORTIZ!!! HE’S A YANKEE KILLER” vs “Oh, look at that home run over there by Cano. How nice.” When the Yankees beat Boston 14-5, ESPN picked a Manny Ramirez home run as the play of the game. With all of the crazy Yankee hitting, the most important, best hit ever was Manny. Give me a break.

No I’m not a whining Yankee fan. I just want to hear unbiased announcers for both sides. If you want to yell at a hit, do it for both teams – that’s the point. Even the YES announcers (on a channel dedicated towards the Yankees) are less biased and show some excitement towards the other team.

Congratulations Chicago White Sox

As a Yankee fan, I’d like to congratulate the Chicago White Sox for winning the World Series. They haven’t done so in 88 years and I have specific reasoning for why I support the White Sox over the Astros.

First of all, I was watching ESPN, and there was this 96 year old man who was a kid when the White Sox won a World Series. Fox interviewed him and I figured that he’s old an probably won’t see this again in his life, so Chicago might as well win.

Most importantly, I’m glad the Astros lost for one reason – that Roger Clemens did NOT deserve a World Series ring. That old bag is a traitor to the Yankees and I lost all respect for him after he announced his retirement, then suddenly signed with the Astros. This clever scheme enabled him to leave the Yankees and return to his redneck land of Texas. Quick off topic side-note – David Wells went to Boston and was booed in Yankee Stadium. I still respect Wells because it was not his choice to leave, rather, Steinbrenner being a selfish fool (who spends hundreds of millions of dollars to lose)

The Red Sox are Rotten

The Yankees suffered two unfair losses due to unfair and rotten baseball. The Red Sox are completely unfair. Since they are not capable of beating a better team, they result to malicious, evil tacticts to win ball games. Boston instigated Saturday’s brawl by intentionally hitting Alex Rodriguez, then jeering at him until he got so riled up that he fought with the pitcher. The benches cleared and for no reason at all, Boston players were beating up on the Yankees. Why? They hoped to injure some of them and knock them out of the game, so it would be easier to win. Did it work? Yes, unfortunately. Tanyon Sturtze’s finger was injured in the mess on Saturday causing him to leave early. The result? A failed bullpen attempt. Up until the incident, he was pitching a no hitter. The Red Sox couldn’t beat him so they beat him (literally) until he had to leave due to injury.

In Sunday’s game, then umpire called Jeter out because he was out of the batters box. This was untrue and probably done because we have biased umpires that support Boston and John Kerry (who attended Sunday’s game).

Here are a few possible thoughts running through the umpire’s minds during the game: “Let’s pick on the Yankees because we musn’t spoil John Kerry’s good time.” Or “Let’s make up a completely bogus call to prevent 2 runs from scoring to get back at the Yankees because they win too much.” What about “Oh yeah, Jeter’s out because the Yankees’ payroll is too high” True, everyone beats up in “the Evil Empire.” I’m sick of this team being treated unfairly by Boston fans, Mets fans and others who hate them.

This is baseball, play the game as it is meant to be. We shouldn’t have to resort to violence to win ballgames these days.

Pedro Martinez Sucks

This isn’t the first time I have posted a message about this bum. In case any of you have missed it, during today’s ALCS game Pedro decided to be an asshole (like he always is – see my other post in my Old News section for more info about what he did last time.) After both benches were warned about not hitting players intentionally, Roger Clemens threw a pitch nowhere near some Red Sox Player. It was not intentional but this bum instigated and complained to the umpire that it was intentional. Pedro then came out and motioned to a Yankee that he’d throw a pitch right at their head to retaliate. Shortly after, he grabbed Don Zimmer, the Yankees’ bench coach, by the neck and threw him to the floor. This is uncalled for. You don’t throw an elderly person to the floor. And don’t tell me Don Zimmer was attacking him. Even if he was, how can a 72 year old harm an animal??? Pedro is a sneaky, slimy idiot who should be fined for doing stupid things. He complains about every little thing to umpires.

Pedro Martinez sucks and so do the Red Sox. Everyone on that team and all the fans have an extremely bad attitude. The hell with Pedro Martinez and The hell with the Red Sox. Let the curse of the Bambino live on. (And I’m toning this down too, I wish I could write what I’m really thinking)
