Granted, I didn’t read the fine print and this got expensed for business, but FUCK American Airlines and their Basic Economy tickets anyway:
I usually check a full sized suitcase every time I travel for work, but this time I thought I’d save the usual $25 each way and bring a free carryon. WRONG. Apparently, last April, American restructured their flight tiers and anyone who books Basic Economy are not allowed to use the overhead bins. So they made me check my empty carryon at the gate for $25 and tacked on an extra $25 gate check fee for not doing it at the counter before security. So now on the way back, I have to check my small ass carryon for another $25. $75 for a small shit that should be in an overhead bin for free. And you’ll never see me on that piece of shit airline again.
But wait! Basic Economy saves you money because the airfare is cheaper than Main cabin airfare, right? Let’s teach a business school lesson about hidden fees. This is a prime example. I went on their site and picked a random cross country flight:
Yes, Basic Economy is $50 cheaper for the base airfare. But guess what? Now you have to spend $50 on bags! So it’s $561 either way because the Main Cabin tier does not include free checked luggage (it does let you use the overhead bins, but it’s the same thing as getting basic and paying the baggage fees). So FUCK OFF.
Unrelated, the plane was a piece of shit, two by one seat, coffin with wings that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 90s. I bet the Biebs has a bigger private jet than the piece of shit Embraer RJ145 they used. Justin Bieber’s dick is probably bigger than that shit plane. It was also 90 degrees on there and the whole experience was an F-
So fuck American Airlines and their bitch ass ways/ hidden fees.
PS- Their CEO has 3 DUIs. Rich cunt thinks he’s above the law and can do whatever he wants and drive around drunk all the time. God forbid he gets his license taken away, he’ll just pay for a personal driver. Fuck him too. I hope his liver gets cirrhosed.
