FarmVille Devs – Learn English
If you don't notice the blatant grammatical error in the above image, kill yourself.
Dear people at Zynga who make FarmVille. It is a popular game. There are over 80 million users. The least you can do is fucking write in proper English. “Alex found a sad llama on their farm.” Really? I must have missed it, but since when did Alex become plural? Stupid morons.

I didnt do a comprehensive search or anything, but a quick google for “his hers their” shows a bunch of people talking about this same problem

Well it shouldn’t be acceptable. When talking about someone singular in formal English, there is nothing wrong with “his or her.” I understand that it would look ridiculous on Facebook if the game said “Alex found a cow on his or her farm” but like you said, how hard is it to tap into your gender setting on Facebook. Your whole profile data is pretty much shared once you authorize an app. And for those who didn’t set their gender, it should just ask and store it.
This is common sense and laziness on Zynga’s part. It’s a popular game and it’s really annoying.
