Of Course Hughes Was Going to Lose

It’s a no brainer. Phil Hughes had an off night and lost to a really shitty team, and it’s completely Joe Girardi’s fault: ignorant managing.

This is what happens when you take a pitcher who is 10-1 and then skip his last start because of an innings limit. Especially when you have A.J Burnett pitching like a fucking moron recently. Fuck that, Hughes is a real man, he can take it. I don’t want any of this pussy ass pampering of my pitchers. They did it to Joba and he fucking sucks now. Of course the extra rest is going to throw the guy off when he was in a rhythm.

This just in from Keef: “at least it was the game Cliff Lee started. Figure that’s the game the M’s had to win”

Jesus Christ, A.J

Look what you did, you useless bastard.

Someone send this fuckin southern tobacco spitting hick AJ Burnett back to AAA until he learns how to pitch. Asshole is a guaranteed loss for the Yankees. Last 4 starts? All losses. He’s quickly turning into the new Jeff Weaver asshole of this team.

Stop fighting with every single catcher and throw the ball somewhere not right down the middle of the plate. This proves that A.J is gay with Jose Molina, because when anyone else is behind the plate, he blows.

This guy got more destroyed than the time Tom Cleary did dizzy bats in townhouse 15 and wiped out an entire beer pong table.

Yankee Problems

I hate when we lose to teams who have bloated, ugly fans who puke on people. It’s unacceptable to lose to a team that you beat in the World Series the previous year. And a team that only had 9 or so wins in their last 20 games. The fucking Mets are better than the Phillies.

Problems:

  • Never hold fuckin boxing matches at the Yankee Stadium. Do you see the outfield grass? It looks diseased. Gardener slipped on the half assed turf they put down it and it cost us a run. Fire that grounds crew!
  • Yes Network needs to stop playing this stupid fucking commercial. The song is awful and reminds me of a preschool tune. Plus, I don’t want to look at 1980s Hondas. Cars in the 80s look like tiny, tin boxes of shit.
  • Fuck Jose Contraras. He sucked in 2003-4 when he played for us, and now he shuts us down. Go back to Cuba.
  • Andy Pettite should urinate all over the starting lineup and bullpen, because the poor guy worked hard and everyone didn’t care.
  • Paul O’Neill – get out of the YES broadcast booth and start throwing water coolers at the players. It’ll motivate them.
  • Placido Pollanco can suck it. I have is Philly ass on my fantasy team. If the Phillies are going to unload runs on the Yankees, I should at least getfantasy points out of it. But he’s like 1-9 in the series
  • Joba, Marte and the rest of the bullpen sucks my fucking balls. Especially Joba – I haven’t seen him pitch well since last season.
  • It’s a requirement that MLB umpires are blind, because they can’t make calls for shit. Fuckin David Patterson would make a better umpire than these jokers.
  • Tampa Bay lost again. The Yankees could have taken first place solo. But no…
  • Someone bring me a cheese steak. It’s the only good thing that comes out of that garbage city.
  • Stop texting me. My phone just DROID’ed 6 times in the past 10 seconds.

If the Yankees don’t slaughter Los Mets in the next three days, I will not be happy

This Guy Just Made My Day

Nick Swisher is my boy. I said that from day one this season – actually, since spring training. For you non-sports folk, Nick Swisher is a dude who had a bad season last year and the Yankees picked up cheaply, and has been absolutely tearing it up lately. The guy is a complete joker (I say this in a good way). His attitude carries the team. So what happens? The Rays shat on the Yankees 15-5 and he volunteers to pitch – and does a better job than anyone else. Swisher threw a complete inning, got 1 strikeout and threw 22 pitches – 12 strikes. He even shook off catcher Jose Molina’s signs (there were no signs). So on a miserable day where Yankee fans should have turned the game off in the 2nd inning, the guy puts some light on the situation. A loss is a loss. If you’re going to get killed, you might as well have fun with it, rather than just give up. He made it clear in his interview that the team’s performance was unacceptable, but he tried to stay in good spirits and help get them winning again. I would much rather watch today’s game and joke about it than to watch something close – like yesterday’s, where you’re an out away from winning it and the bullpen blows it. Those suck.

So what do we learn? Let’s apply this game to my joke of a life. Without going into details, I come up with these ingenious plans in my head that I am 100% confident will work. Let’s just say these plans were as successful as well as Chien Ming Wang’s first two starts (0-2 with a 28.93 ERA in 4.2 innings). My first instinct was to just mope around, go to sleep, listen to Alice in Chains and/or be miserable. But then when i saw the huge smile on his face while pitching, I was like, “Wait a minute, why can’t I be like Swisher?” You don’t see him dragging down the team after a huge loss. Me and the Yankees had a rough Monday – so what? It’s one game out of 162 – and one day out of 365. Swisher still had a blast and will make the best of a bad situation to make things favorable for the Yankees in the future. I plan to do the same.

Remembering Yankee Stadium

There is way too much history to go over everything that happened here. It’s not my job to write about it. There is a sweet article in Sports Illustrated that everyone needs to read. It goes over the history and secrets of the stadium. Anyway, as a kid, you will never forget your first time out to the stadium: May 16, 1999. 15-20 rows back between home and third. Andy Pettite was on the mound and pitched a gem, closed out by Mo. The Yankees won 2-1 on a Chili Davis home run. This summer, I got out to the stadium a lot and had a package of 8 games in the bleachers. My final game at the stadium was July 30, 2008. Section 39, bleachers. Joba Chamberlain started and the Yankees ended a 3 game skid by winning 13-3 against the Orioles. It did not hit me at the time that it would be my last time there. It actually wasn’t until today (the second to last game at the stadium) where the reality sunk in. I will be watching the final coverage on ESPN and YES that goes over the history of it all. I’m sure tomorrow will be a day that I’ll be remembering the rest of my life.
