QuickTime 7 for Windows Public Preview

Apple Quicktime has released Quicktime 7. Quicktime was always average with the mov files. As of now, the best videos are compressed with Divx or Xvid codecs. But with the release of the new H.264 codec, videos can be higher in quality with reasonable sizes. Of course Quicktime 7 is still a beta for Windows and sucks. I’m bragging about the codec, not the program. So stick with 6.wahtever is out until they release 7 final for Windows.

QuickTime 7 features a state-of-the-art video codec called H.264, which delivers stunning quality at remarkably low data rates. Ratified as part of the MPEG-4 standard (MPEG-4 Part 10), this ultra-efficient technology gives you excellent results across a broad range of bandwidths, from 3G for mobile devices to iChat AV for video conferencing to HD for broadcast and DVD.

Homestarrunner.com Subliminal Message

I just found a subliminal message in one of the strongbad emails. It was the virus episode, which is old. Watch it first to refresh your memory

It happens when Homestar tries to fix the “computer box” and all the popups show up. I became suspicious when I noticed that every time a popup showed up Homestar said “making” but as time went on it got muddy and overlapped. It ended with an echo of “awesome” At first I was thinking “making” was referring to all the popup windows (within the flash) and was part of the cartoon

BUT: one popup was a real Firefox window (p.s: Firefox doesn’t block that popup and IE does). It contained a flash of what Homestar was saying. I couldn’t refresh it and the window was not sizeable, so I couldnt see the URL of it. Well I like to snoop in places that aren’t open to the public, and wanted to see the popup page in a real browser window and look at the flash on it. So I opened the page again with IE and found the URL of the popup link in my temp internet files. I played it and was surprised.

In reality, the “popup” is…

Very interesting…

Portfolioso.com Back Online

Wow, it’s been over a month since my site was last updated. And what a great day for portfolioso.com to be back online: the one year anniversary, and my birthday! Well, sorry that I bored all of you by not updating for over a month. I missed it a lot – there’s so much to write about.

I’ve been so busy with school work and never got a chance to fix some minor things that needed attention, which is why it took so long. But now all is well, so I finally got a chance to fix things gradually throughout the month. The forums still need a little work, but they’re almost ready. It won’t be long! Don’t forget to sign up and leave comments (not the same as your forum login)

ZOMG Dance

Watch John’s latest flash animation. It’s the entire “crew” dancing around and is extremely hilarious. Nice work.
