Bad Start in 2005
The Yankees suck. Nothing much more to say. After beating Boston twice, they quickly dissolved into crap, with the past two games getting worse. Don’t mind this negative, highly critical post – I don’t give anyone a chance.
Mariano is old and blew two saves in a row. The first time, he was lucky and the Yankees won – but he’s still an idiot because Pavano pitched a good game and deserved the win and didn’t get it. What the hell is wrong with him? Michael Kay is a commentator on YES and was shocked when Yankee fans booed him off the field after helping the Yankees win since the mid 90s. Yeah that’s true, but we’re taking about now, not the past. What about the World Series he blew? What about all the blown saves in last years’ ALCS? Steinbrenner better buy another closer. Ever since Rivera had that tragedy in his family, he hasn’t been the same.
Of course it’s not all Rivera’s fault. A-Rod is baseball’s richest player and we pay him to make fielding errors. If he turned a double play, the Yankees would have won. If he just got one out, the Yankees would have won because Rivera got the next batter out. A-rod has been good for shit since he became a Yankee. A-Rod will be a flop and will totally suck next year, mark my words. If you ever compared him to his Texas or Seattle days, he is an average player. And usually anyone who was good and came to the Yankees turned out to be a flop. Look at Giambi. He was excellent and came there and was crap last year. What the hell happened to Wright? Pitched like an asshole giving up way too many runs. Mr. Atlanta Ace.
Bernie Williams needs to retire. He is 0 for the season and can’t hit. The old bag has been here for 15 years and was very good, but when you start embarrassing yourself, just leave. Don’t get me wrong. I <3 Bernie - great player who did wonderful things over the years, but lately not so much. Same thing with Tino. He's OLD. Everyone makes this big stink about him coming back. The fans are cheering him for everything he has done in the 90s. Again, this is not the 90s. He's old and shot. Tony Clark was a better first baseman that filled in for Giambi. Who do we have now? Two fools: a ball-shrunken steroid addict who is too worn out to play 1B everyday, so they replace him with Tino, who is no good but is just there to make the fans happy. Making the fans happy does not win games. And Roger Clemens is an idiot. He pulled this "I'm retiring" crap prior to the start of last season and collects dirt from ballparks for his sons. Then he says "Oops. I lied! I'm gonna pitch another year with the Astros. So he comes back and is still there. Last year he had a great year and this year he's still pitching at 42 and just pitched a brilliant one hitter with 9 strikeouts. We needed him in pinstripes. Not these other pitching morons who don't know what they're doing. If he wanted to pitch for his hometown, fine. Why don't you say so. He wasn't in a contract anyway. But don't say you're retiring. By the way as sad as it is I still respect him because he's one of the few people who knows how to pitch well. And now for the positives: Matsui is decent and will probably have a good year. Possibly Sheffield and Randy Johnson. But despite their good seasons, we won't be seeing the Yankees in October. 😡
Yankees
Nice attempt. I really don’t care though. The Boston series was so good and I was so happy seeing them beat Boston, this really didn’t matter too much. It’s not the same team from 1996-1999. No one has experience and that’s why they’ve been losing for the past few years. Oh well…
Mussina Sucks Lately
Did anyone notice how Mussina lost all three of his post season starts? Did anyone notice that the Yankees only have three losses in the post season this year, and they’re all Mussina’s, and how well, Wells, Clemens and Pettitte did? That’s all I have to say.
Yankees: Bad Baseball
The Yankees absolutely suck. As a Yankee fan for years, I have always stayed with my team in bad times. I still will – it’s what you do. But it doesn’t mean I can’t complain. Here are the main problems: Jeff Weaver is a druggie (literally – see link and scroll to highlighted terms) that can’t pitch. Steinbrenner should have never traded Lily (a good pitcher) for him. Torre can’t manage anymore and he’s too tired and has been doing this for too long. Stottlemyre doesn’t ever believe in changing pitchers. Steinbrenner makes too many abrupt changes and buying up old bags who stink, rather than getting young talent. He’s now having another heart attack and thinking of firing Rick Down the, asshole hitting coach. Hideki Matsui grounds out too much. Bernie is hurt. Contreras who was bad but got decent, is hurt. And what possessed Steinbrenner to ever get an entire new bullpen which completely sucks? We need Nelson, and Stanton back. Every new person Steinbrenner picked up has no playoff experience and thus the downfall of the Yankees.
The Yankees can go 0 for the rest of the season for all I care. I’d like to know how the hell six different pitchers no hit them?
Please believe me The Yankees are in bad shape.
Edit 2009: Wow I spoke stupidly back then… Could use some better analysis and less rant. Haha..
Ian Kennedy Sucks; Yankees Doomed

A few days ago, I get a call from someone at home asking me to chill Friday night. At first I didn’t want to, being that the Yankees were heading out west to take on the best team in baseball. But, it started at 10PM EST and I figured that. Meanwhile, we get sidetracked in Jersey, visiting some friends while we’re in the area. Well, good thing I didn’t rush home for the game, because I almost puked all over our waitress when I glimpsed at a TV in the 8th inning. (At least there was something decent there to look at besides the game.)
I have lost all respect for Ian Kennedy (0-4 8.97 ERA) following what he said after his abysmal pitching performance (yet again)… Let’s analyze:
One last comment on Kennedy: Go work in Wendy’s or something. You stupid fucking idiot, you gave up more hits than recorded outs, what are you smoking to think you didn’t pitch badly. But he’s a young kid, and everyone wants to give him 32 more losses, I mean chances. Here’s the Portfolioso.com solution to the Ian Kennedy problem: DESIGNATED FOR ASSIGNMENT. Harsh, yes. Potential loss of someone who will be good at some point? (cough 5+ years), yes. Why not send him back to the minors? Because after saying what you just said, I don’t want you on my team if you don’t care. Even Sidney Ponson (who had some great starts and helped our pitching fiasco) but generally isn’t seen as reliable, gets annoyed when he gives up runs. You can see him smacking his head after giving up a home run, which was only 1 of 3 earned runs and he got the win. That’s called effort, realizing you made a mistake, and keeping your head in the game to improve. Not “Oh yeah I’m not concerned. It’s cool guys. I have a blunt over here.”
The battered, tender and injury-prone Yankees are done. Better luck next season. This is something I have been saying since April, and everyone gave me shit for it, but I saw this coming. The Yankees usually start slowly and come to life After the All Star Break (no one expected it last year either, but it happened – and people relied on this to happen this year.) Well bad news folks, ain’t happening. Yast year, the Yanks were well on the road to recovery. This year, they start pitchers who don’t seen to care about the game. The post All Star Break jokeshow hotstreak of theirs was good while it lasted – or let me rephrase that – as they played crappy teams below .500. As expected, the Yankees fell back towards their usual ways. And it won’t be resolved until people like Kennedy are… Dealt with.
Hitting issues: Can someone seriously give me a dollar for every time a Yankee hits into a double play, and 50 cents when an out is made with runners in scoring position? This would nicely defray the cost of my college textbook bill. A-Rod is good, but not when the Yankees really need him. All Jeter does is make Ford commercials. Abreu’s hot. Nady started slow since coming here, but has been hot lately. Melky… Melky should have been gone months ago and in a deal for someone good. Since acquiring Nady, Girardi had Melky out of the lineup for 4 straight games. First, Girardi claimed to be resting him, but we later found out he needed to make “adjustments” since Nady came along. Sure, it doesn’t help when you’re hitting .220 and your on base percentage is less than .300. Suddenly, right bench is looking more useful for the team.
Second problem: Injuries. The Yankee organization downright lies about everyone’s injuries. There is way too much optimism. No one likes to hear the news that the Yankees just lost 8 of their last 13 games, so lets downplay the injury report. Everyone who ended up on the 15 day disabled list is out for months. I am scared for Joba, because the reports are that rotator cuff tendonitis will only sidetrack him a few weeks. Well let me kindly remind you that Jorge Posada was diagnosed with the same exact thing, which eventually led to season ending shoulder surgery (after he was stubborn, played on a bad shoulder, and couldn’t through out my grandpa if he tried to steal second). Joba is gone for the year. Wang is gone for the year. Posada is gone for the year. We go and get Pudge, and he needs to miss a few games because he got run over. Jeeeeeeeeeez.
I will stick by this team no matter what happens – it’s the job of real fans (yeah, we hate the bandwagon jumpers who only care when the Yankees actually win). Hopefully, this blog post will be dead wrong and we can make a wild card run, but they cannot be using assholes like Ian Kennedy to do that. The AL East is too strong for us this year. Let me conclude with two things to ponder. “Better luck next season” and “Who is jinxing the team that everyone’s getting hurt?”
