Weekends Suck

Weekends are not good anymore. They pass by in two seconds and leave you more stressed out by Sunday than on Friday. Not only does every teacher decide “Oh, I’ll assign 400 questions because you have the weekend to do it,” but between visiting family and friends, doing work and running around like a chicken, there is no way you can rest.

Days need to be like 39 hours long. I need to go to another planet that has a rotational perod of 39 hours and a period of revolution of 500 days, just so I have enough time to work, relax and do what I need to do – without being rushed. Time is everything. One thing I hate is when people or things waste my time, because you’ll NEVER get it back. And what’s the deal with sleep anyway? What a waste of time. Then you wonder why I never sleep much? I have too many things to do!! I’ll do plenty of sleeping when I’m dead – I’m not going to waste my valuable time in some retarded blackness. Of course, when you stay up too much you end up crashing worse than Windows ME, sleep for like 13 hours and waste even more time. You just can’t win.

Coheed and Cambria Sucks

They are completely awful. Only people like Dannyrob would fall for their crappy music. And krock plays them a lot which makes me puke.

Their high pitched whining voices really irritate me. And you all know how Maddox dissed U2 for their “heavy” lyrics (wooao)? Well if you though that was bad, hearing some 18 year old guys who had their balls removed screaching “wa oh wa ooooh wa oh oh oh woah” 3 times doesn’t help. Listen here (193KB) (that clip is from Blood Red Summer)

And no Dannyrob, I’m not copying Maddox by posting a sound clip. I did give him the credit for the original idea. I did feel it was necessary to post a link to these church choir boys without balls to prove to everyone exactly how high their voices are.

You’ve Got to be Kidding Me

If you don’t feel like reading this whole article I can sum it up in two words: Get Firefox. If you want to read on about how IE sucks, then go ahead.

I decided to use IE just for the hell of it and see how crappy the internet is without Firefox. Since Service Pack 2 should have made it more secure, I decided to see how true that was. Apparently not.

ActiveX controls are the things that popup and ask you to install things, usually adware. Service Pack 2 blocks all of these by default but a little bar pops up on top telling you that it was blocked. Of course, IE is still vulnerable unless you go into Internet Settings and turn off ActiveX controls, but no one does this. So because a bar pops up notifying people when sites try to install bad software, this makes IE okay, right? Wrong…

Here’s what really pissed me off. Sites know that SP2 blocks their spyware, so now they provide detailed instructions on how to install it, bypassing all of SP2s new security features (which are weak anyway). Yes, it’s happening. “In order to continue using our site you must…” Check out the picture for the actual instructions given. Quick note about the picture – it is a real screenshot and a javascript detected Internet Explorer and those instructions popped up over the main content of the website. Dumb people would follow the instructions because they want to access the site. And here’s the kicker. The damn thing says security warning, and the instructions are asking you to install it. People are really dumb and would.

I can’t make this point any stronger: GET FIREFOX!!!! I went to the exact same site and every bad script and popup was blocked.

The i860 – New Junk for Lazy People

This isn’t the first time I’m bashing Nextel phones. Anyway, the i860 is crap and is for lazy people. The feature that pisses me off the most is the push-button flip mechanism. This is absolute junk and a waste of a feature. It proves people are too lazy these days. Whats the matter, takes too much energy to manually filp up your phone? I guess so. Some fat lazy engineer for Motorolla probably designed this because he was sick of burning an extra calorie by opening up his phone. He thought it’d be easier to push a button. Well it sucks. I saw the phone and used the push button flip. It opens so fast that it’s bound to wear out within a month. Just another thing to wear out and break.

Motorolla uses good marketing strategy build a phone that will wear out quickly and break, because lazy idiots will buy the phone, break it in a month, then buy another. I can get a Verizon LG phone for $60 that has all the same features minus the crappy flip option. Sigh… What’s happenning to society these days?

Roxio Sucks

Ok so Roxio sucks because they make crappy software that’s not compatable with Microsoft updates, causing me hours of computer problems, headaches and annoyances.

So early this morning I went to turn on my computer and it got to the Windows XP thing but that green bar just stopped dead every time. So I waited 3 minutes and restarted. Of course it informed me that XP didn’t load properly (no shit!) and offered the option to boot into safe mode. I tried to start it normally again ad it did. Okay. At the time I had no idea it was Roxio, but it wasn’t working right for me (cds were corrupt) so I decided to uninstall it and reinstall it. After I uninstalled it, my computer was fine. Then, I installed it again and the computer wouldn’t start anymore. I didn’t suspect Roxio at this point. Anyway there were better things to do than sit in front of a computer all day, so I left and came back later that afternoon.

Again, the darn thing wouldn’t boot and I decided to start it in safe mode, then did a system restore and after a few tries, it started again. I then attempted to reinstall Roxio (like an ass.) That screwed up the booting again and it wouldn’t start. I did 2 system restores and nothing happened – still wouldn’t start. Anyway, by now I knew that it was Roxio causing this problem, so I attmpted to uninstall it in safe mode, but that didn’t work because safe mode is devoid of drivers. After one more restore, I finally got it working (good thing!) Next, I immediately uninstalled Roxio Easy CD creator 5 Platinum and took the install disc and threw it out. No loss. It’s old anyway. I probably would have formatted the harddrive if I had good backups but they were scattered and I didn’t want to start over new. Godd thing It’s okay.

So what caused this problem? A few days before that, I upgraded to DirectX 9.0 (Microsoft video crap) and Roxio probably didn’t like that. So Roxio was slowly causing trouble by burning bad cds, then completely screwed up the Windows boot sectors on my harddrive. Damn, if software was made correctly, it should be forward compatable. Oh well, now I have Nero and it requires DirectX 9.

Sorry to bore you people. I’m sure no one cares about my computer crap story.
